Description

Macavity Arms MA8 .30 Caliber Benchrest PCP Air Rifle

The Macavity Arms MA8 .30 caliber PCP air rifle is built for serious benchrest competitors and precision-focused shooters. Its highly adjustable platform allows the rifle to match different ammunition, shooting distances, rests, and individual preferences.

A large 690cc air reservoir supports long, consistent shooting sessions. The reservoir is machined from strong 7075 aluminum and accepts fill pressures up to 4,350 PSI, or 300 bar.

The MA8 also features Macavity Arms’ Tru-Click externally adjustable regulator. Each tactile click changes the regulated pressure by one bar. Therefore, shooters can make controlled adjustments and return to a previous setting more easily.

Macavity Arms MA8 .30 Caliber Overview

Precision Tuning for Pellets and Slugs

The Macavity Arms MA8 is designed to shoot both pellets and properly matched slugs. Its adjustable regulator and indexed hammer spring allow shooters to balance velocity, power, consistency, and air use.

The regulator offers a broad adjustment range of approximately 600 to 3,200 PSI. The system may support regulated pressures up to 280 bar, depending on the final configuration and manufacturer limits.

The indexed hammer-spring adjustment provides visible and repeatable tuning positions. This feature helps shooters document settings for different ammunition and barrel combinations.

Single-Valve Caliber Conversion System

The single-valve architecture centralizes the firing system. Shooters can change calibers by replacing the barrel, magazine, and probe with compatible components.

The platform is designed to support caliber changes ranging from .177 through .35 caliber. Required conversion components are sold separately unless specifically included.

This modular design allows competitors to test several bore sizes without replacing the complete rifle.

Interchangeable MSR Barrel System

The Macavity Arms MA8 uses a Macavity Arms MSR barrel system designed for compatibility with selected FX-style liners and TJ barrels.

Available barrel lengths may include:

  • 500mm
  • 600mm
  • 700mm
  • 800mm

This system gives shooters more control over projectile stabilization, velocity, balance, and overall rifle length.

Barrel and liner compatibility should always be confirmed before installation. Correct caliber components, probes, magazines, shrouds, and barrel supports may be required.

Tru-Click Externally Adjustable Regulator

The Tru-Click regulator provides audible and tactile adjustment points. Each click represents a one-bar pressure change.

This design makes regulator adjustments more repeatable than an unmarked adjustment screw. Shooters can record their preferred settings for specific pellets, slugs, barrels, and distances.

Dual pressure gauges display reservoir pressure and regulated pressure separately. Therefore, the shooter can monitor both systems without guessing.

Two-Stage Electronic Trigger

The Macavity Arms MA8 uses an electronically actuated two-stage trigger. The system is designed to reduce mechanical movement and provide a clean, consistent trigger break.

Trigger travel, pull weight, and trigger position may be adjustable. The rifle also includes an ambidextrous safety switch and electronic power control.

The electronic system requires power to operate. Battery type, charging equipment, and operating instructions should be confirmed from the final production manual.

Adjustable Optic Alignment

The angle between the top Picatinny optic rail and barrel can be adjusted. This feature helps shooters align the optic system for extreme-distance shooting.

A properly adjusted rail may reduce the need for excessive internal scope elevation. It can also help preserve usable adjustment range when shooting at extended distances.

The top rail accepts compatible Picatinny scope rings and mounting accessories.

ARCA Rail and M-LOK Accessory Mounting

The bottom of the rifle includes an ARCA rail for stable attachment to compatible benchrest equipment, tripods, and shooting rests.

M-LOK mounting slots provide additional accessory positions. Shooters can install compatible bipods, weights, bag riders, data boards, or other competition equipment.

The combination of ARCA and M-LOK mounting systems supports both fixed benchrest setups and more portable shooting configurations.

Adjustable Shooting Position

The position-adjustable grip moves forward or backward. This allows the shooter to customize hand placement and trigger reach.

A height-adjustable cheek rest supports proper eye alignment behind the scope. These adjustments can improve comfort and consistency during long matches.

The rifle’s balance can also be changed through barrel length, accessory placement, and grip positioning.

Integrated Sound-Moderating System

The carbon-fiber barrel shroud incorporates a sound-reducing system. The rifle also includes a modular baffled moderator and 1/2-20 UNF muzzle threads.

The modular design allows the shooter to change moderator length and configuration where legally permitted.

Sound level depends on ammunition, power setting, barrel length, moderator configuration, and surroundings. No PCP air rifle should be considered completely silent.

Large 680cc Air Reservoir

The 680cc reservoir provides substantial onboard air capacity. Its 300-bar maximum fill pressure supports extended shot strings between fills.

Macavity Arms lists approximately 46 to 70 shots at a 110-joule tune, depending on barrel length, configuration, regulator setting, ammunition, and other variables.

Actual shot count will vary. Shooters should confirm performance with a chronograph before relying on a specific number of consistent shots.
